Discovering Clearwater in Florida

Just as New York is synonymous of freedom and International Affairs, Florida is synonymous of holidays and relax. Florida is, par excellence, the state in which all Americans go on vacation to relax, as well as being the state in which the majority of Americans move when they reach retirement age. Florida, featured by a mild climate that lasts all year, has definitely a lot to offer: from broad, long white beaches listed as the best of America, to local attractions known all around the world: Disney World, the Alligator Alley, the spectacle of “Keys” Islands, large parks and the famous Cape Canaveral, where the space shuttle takes off.

Clearwater is a city located in Pinellas County, west of Tampa and north-west of St. Petersburg.
Dolphin Tale” movie was shot in Clearwater, the protagonist was Winter, the cute and cuddly dolphin, just recently the second chapter “Dolphin Tale 2” came out on the big screen. Thousands of tourists every year come to Clearwater to see live the now famous dolphin and the places where the movie was filmed. Also a museum was set-up in downtown Clearwater, It recreates some of the scenes of the movie! An attraction definitely exciting for all ages.

The city of Clearwater has been chosen as Scientology’s religious and spiritual retreat, recently protagonist of the opening of the magnificent new building of global importance, as well as a center of art and culture with the opening of the new Capitol Theatre, Ruth Eckerd Hall separate branch, renovated from top to bottom to host artists from around the world and where recently also singer Zucchero Fornaciari performed who, surprised, would never have thought to find so many Italians to welcome him just in Clearwater.

Many activities in Clearwater recall Italy, such as clothing with the new “Rome – New York” ladies’ casual chic wear Made in Italy or “Gioffrè” haute couture, offering refined clothing designed and made by designer Angela Gioffrè but also pizzerias, restaurants and ice cream as the Italian “Gala’s Gelateria” and “Cafè Milano“, just around the corner from Capitol Theatre.

The city offers convenient connections to the beaches and famous shopping centers: the International Plaza in Tampa and Clearwater mall. It is possible to move from the beaches to the center with the comfortable and quaint Jolley Trolley, while for all other destinations bus or taxi are available. The Tampa International Airport is just 21 miles from downtown Clearwater, from there you can reach hundreds of destinations with international connections.
